Each author has their unique way to translate a situation into a story and their take on how they want their plot to go.Not liking two, or twelve, books with a particular trope only means that you didn’t like the author’s take on it.
Maybe you just have to find an author with the same POV as you about how things should go or take a risk and write the romance story yourself.
